A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER
Dear friend,
I started The Jewish Dating Game in July 2024 because I wanted to be in a room I couldn't find anywhere else. A room where you didn't have to prove your Jewishness at the door. A room where a Jew with one Jewish grandparent, or an interfaith partner, or a secular Jew who hadn't been to anything Jewish in ten years, or an ally who just wanted to be in good company, could all sit together and laugh. I wanted a room where being publicly Jewish felt joyful instead of complicated.
For sixteen months I ran the show out of my own pocket. We sold out in New York. We took the show to DC, to Philadelphia, to Miami. JCCs and synagogues started asking us to come to their cities. Three thousand people came through the door. The press came. And somewhere in there I realized that if I kept doing this the way I was doing it, I'd eventually have to raise ticket prices to a level that closed the room I had spent a year and a half opening.
So in November 2025 I filed the paperwork. Got Chutzpah, Inc. is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and the only reason it exists is to keep the door wide.
If this work matters to you, please consider a gift today. Every dollar buys a subsidized seat for someone who otherwise wouldn't come, helps pay an artist what they're worth, or brings the show to a city that doesn't yet have one.
With chutzpah and gratitude,
Linnea Sage
